Nissan has issued a recall for six of its models: the Titan, Armada, Frontier, Pathfinder, InfinitiQX56, and the Xterra. Nearly 2.1 million of these models have been recalled due to an ignition problem that may stall the engine when starting the vehicle. Nissan has said that there have been no report of problems. The company is just issuing the recall as a preventative measure. The recall only affects vehicles manufactured between August 2003 and July 2006.

Isn't that something? They're doing a recall for something as minor as an ignition issue when there aren't even any reports of problems? Before you couldn't get auto manufacturers to do a recall for major issues that would save lives without the worst having to come to pass first. Hats off to Nissan for growing up and putting on their big boy pants.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Francie that this is nice. Perhaps the Toyota recall and its affect on Toyota's reputation will have a long-lasting effect on all car manufacturers.
ReplyDeleteHave they reported on how much of an affect this has had on their income?
ReplyDeleteThey have not yet responded to how much this recall will cost the company. They see it as more of a preventative measure than a reactive measure.
